Porsche Specialist Services

Repairs and maintenance that require genuine Porsche expertise:

IMS Bearing Replacement (996/997)

The most critical preventive repair for 1999-2012 Porsche 911. We use the LN Engineering IMS Pro dual-row retrofit. If your 996/997 hasn't had this done, call us before you need it.

PDK Transmission Service

Porsche-spec fluid, correct torque-fill procedure, mechatronics preservation. We don't use generic ATF. Recommended every 40,000-60,000 miles for PDK longevity.

Cayenne V8 Coolant Pipe Replacement

Plastic coolant distribution pipes on 955/957 Cayenne V8 (2003-2010) crack between 80k-120k miles. We replace them with updated aluminum pipes.

Taycan Annual Service

Full PIWIS 4 scan, brake fluid, cabin microfilter, brake and tire inspection.

Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI)

Before you buy any Porsche, let us inspect it. PIWIS scan, IMS risk assessment, compression test, coolant system check.

Cayenne Air Suspension (PASM)

Air strut compressor failure, strut leaks, ride height faults — PIWIS calibration required after strut replacement.

Boxster/Cayman IMS Bearing (986/987)

Same M96/M97 IMS risk as 996 911. LN Engineering IMS Pro dual-row retrofit. Often combined with clutch replacement to save on labor.

Porsche 911 Service (996/997/991/992)

Annual maintenance for all 911 generations. Mobil 1 0W-40 engine oil, PDK or manual transmission service, brake inspection, PIWIS diagnostics.

Macan Service (All Generations)

Macan 2.0T, 3.0T, and electric: PDK service, coolant expansion tank, brake inspection, PIWIS scan.

Panamera Service (970/971)

970 V8 plastic coolant pipe risk, PDK service with Esso LT 71141, E-Hybrid 12V lithium battery.

Porsche Brake Service

PCCB ceramic and steel systems, PIWIS ABS sensor reset, proper bedding procedure. Porsche brakes require specific bedding to prevent glazing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does going to an independent shop void my Porsche warranty?

No. Porsche cannot void your warranty solely because you used an independent repair shop, as long as equivalent parts and procedures are used. For warranty-covered repairs, you must use a Porsche dealer. For out-of-warranty service and maintenance you can use an independent Porsche specialist like Express Auto.

What diagnostic tools does Express Auto use for Porsche?

We use Porsche PIWIS 4, Porsche’s factory diagnostic tester. It connects to the car's control modules — engine, PDK, PASM, air suspension, airbag and ABS — to read and clear fault codes and show live data.

Can Express Auto service my Porsche Taycan (electric)?

Yes for all standard maintenance: brake fluid (every 2 years), cabin/microfilter replacement, tire rotation, brake inspection, and full PIWIS diagnostic scan. High-voltage battery pack replacement requires a Porsche dealer with factory EV charging equipment. All other Taycan service is within our capability.

What is the IMS bearing and should I worry about it?

The IMS (Intermediate Shaft) bearing on 1999-2008 Porsche 911 (M96/M97 engine) is a known failure point. We strongly recommend the LN Engineering IMS Pro retrofit on any 996 or early 997 that has not already had it replaced. We perform this service and provide a written report documenting completion.

Is the code scan free? What does a Porsche diagnosis cost?

Free inspection, walk-in or by appointment: a code scan plus a visual inspection. Our free inspection is a code scan plus a visual inspection of the car. Diagnostics is for when we need more time to find the root cause.

“The 957 Cayenne are known to have catastrophic coolant leaks and other issues that Anderson has been able to address for me. The work done for me was half of what I was quoted for at another Porsche specialist.”
