We start with a free inspection, a code scan plus a visual inspection. Diagnostics, when we need more time to find the root cause, is $250, waived when the repair is completed by our shop.
What is the Audi cam follower and why should I check it?
The cam follower (also called the fuel pump follower or HPFP tappet) on 2.0T TFSI engines (A4, A5, A6, Q5, Q7 with CCTA/CBFA/CPMA engines) is a small wear item between the camshaft and high-pressure fuel pump. When it wears through, it damages the camshaft lobe. We inspect the cam follower at every oil change on 2.0T TFSI Audis and replace it when it shows wear. This is the single most cost-effective preventive service on these engines.
Can Express Auto service my Audi without voiding the warranty?
Yes. Audi cannot void your factory warranty because you used an independent shop, as long as equivalent OEM-grade parts and procedures are used. We document all services with correct Audi-spec fluids (VW 504.00/507.00 oil, G12++ or G13 coolant).
